Peasant tops have traditionally had puffy sleeves. Over the years an evolution has occurred transforming the peasant blouse into a hippie-chic staple item. I love the balance of the feminine lace detail paired with the bad-ass skull embroidered right in the centre top of this blouse (it’s a bit tough to see on these photos – but if you look closely, it’s there). I pulled out that edgy detail by pairing with a black leather jacket. The peasant blouse has also gone through changes in shape as styles and cuts have changed over time. This one is still quite loose in fit but not too long.

Cream peasant blouse: Scotch & Soda

Dark skinny jeans: J. Crew

Black leather jacket: Mackage

Oversized black purse: Marc by Marc Jacobs
